dailyloe.com – A county clerk in Wisconsin has claimed that an FBI agent visited the home of a county election director. Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson confirmed that the agent left a business card during the visit. This incident has raised concerns about the nature of the FBI’s inquiry.

Christenson expressed disappointment over the FBI’s decision to approach the election director at her residence. He stated, “It is unfortunate that the FBI chose to visit the private residence of Milwaukee County’s Elections Director rather than contact the Election Commission’s office directly.” He emphasized that no public servant should face such intrusion while performing their duties.

In his statement, Christenson defended the handling of the 2020 presidential election in Wisconsin, calling it “fair and transparent.” He highlighted various audits and challenges that reaffirmed the integrity of the election process. He noted that continued questioning of settled matters undermines trust in elections.

According to Christenson, the election’s integrity was validated by several means, including a post-election canvass and multiple independent audits. He stated, “Continuing to relitigate settled questions does not strengthen public confidence in elections but it undermines it.”

Christenson also asserted that while they cooperate with legitimate law enforcement actions, his office will defend against any perceived attacks on democracy. He stressed the importance of safeguarding the electoral process through facts and transparency.

He concluded that the record demonstrates that the standards for election integrity were met during the 2020 elections. Christenson remarked that they will continue to protect the rights of voters in Milwaukee County amid ongoing scrutiny.
