dailyloe.com – A 14-year-old girl is in critical condition after a vehicle struck her. The crash occurred while she was riding an electric skateboard. It happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday on Pinion Drive in Wellington.
The driver involved was also 14 years old. He was operating a 2007 Kawasaki vehicle. It remains unclear if this was a motorcycle or a golf cart.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident. Both the driver and the girl were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center. The driver received treatment for minor injuries.
The girl suffered significant injuries from the collision. She sustained two brain bleeds and rib fractures. She is currently intubated in the hospital.
