Leesburg Police Seek Driver After Fatal Hit-and-Run

A 40-year-old woman was found dead after a hit-and-run in Leesburg. Police have located the suspect vehicle and continue to investigate.

dailyloe.com – A Leesburg woman was found dead after a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning. Police discovered the body of Ashleah C. Hayes near U.S. Highway 27 and English Road. Officers were initially called for a well-being check.

The incident occurred just south of Singletary Park shortly after midnight. Hayes was identified as a 40-year-old pedestrian. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation indicated an unidentified gray Hyundai sedan struck Hayes. She was crossing the road at the time of the crash. Hayes sustained fatal injuries from the collision.

The Leesburg Police Department is still investigating the fatal crash. Authorities said the vehicle involved has been located. The car is now in police custody.
