dailyloe.com – A contestant on ‘The Price Is Right’ achieved a historic milestone by winning the largest single pricing game prize in the show’s 54-year history. Vanesa McCaskell, a retired Army veteran from Virginia, won over $240,150 in cash and prizes during a special Mother’s Day episode on Friday.

This record win occurred after McCaskell successfully played ‘The Lion’s Share,’ a high-stakes game associated with BetMGM, which allows contestants to risk their earnings for larger rewards. McCaskell won $227,500 in cash and a trip to Morocco valued at $12,650.

Her victory surpassed the previous record of $210,000 set by Christen Freeman in 2016 during a game of ‘Cliff Hangers.’ McCaskell expressed her excitement, stating, ‘From ‘Come on Down’ to playing ‘The Lion’s Share,’ it all felt so surreal – a dream moment that only kept getting bigger.’

She added, ‘I was nervous, excited and everything at once. Winning over $200,000 is life changing. I plan to invest wisely, enjoy a little and treat my mom to a special surprise.’

‘The Lion’s Share’ was created by Freemantle in partnership with BetMGM and introduced during the first episode of the 54th season in September 2025. The game allows contestants to win up to $500,000 in cash and prizes.

In this game, contestants guess grocery item prices to earn up to five balls, which are dropped into a wind-tunnel-style chamber revealing hidden prizes. After each reveal, contestants must decide whether to keep their winnings or continue risking them for the chance to win more.

McCaskell’s record win showcases the excitement and potential rewards of participating in ‘The Price Is Right,’ especially with new game formats like ‘The Lion’s Share.’
