The animated series ‘South Park’ is set to return for its 29th season, with new episodes starting on September 16. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone made the announcement during an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on May 19, 2026.
According to Comedy Central, episodes will air every two weeks, with subsequent releases scheduled for September 30, October 14, October 28, November 11, and November 25. Parker and Stone noted they have not yet finalized the content of these upcoming episodes, reflecting their tight production schedule.
New Season Follows Political Themes
This new season follows a significant political focus in the previous one, which aired in 2025. The season began with a satirical portrayal of former President Donald Trump, depicted humorously in bed with Satan, a character similar to the show’s past portrayal of Saddam Hussein.
The Trump parody drew a response from the White House, where a spokesperson dismissed the show’s relevance, stating, ‘this show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.’

Throughout the 2025 season, ‘South Park’ continued to criticize the Trump administration in every episode, integrating various members into its storylines. Vice President J.D. Vance was portrayed as a servant, while former Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was depicted in a controversial role.
