Strategy holds $2.25 billion in cash reserved for potential purchases. The scale of the next Bitcoin acquisition is now the only open question. The company is the largest corporate Bitcoin holder on the planet. It was formerly known as MicroStrategy.
Simultaneously, the company floated a proposal for its STRC preferred stock. It aims to convert dividend payments from monthly to semi-monthly. Shareholder voting on this proposal closes on June 8, 2026. The first record date would be June 30 with the first payment on July 15.
The annualized yield for the STRC stock stays fixed at 11.5%. The switch targets halved ex-dividend drawdowns and tighter liquidity patterns. It also aims for better collateral utility for the instrument. The proposal requires Nasdaq compliance review and dual approval from STRC holders.
The STRC preferred series launched in mid-2024. It is branded “Stretch” and initially paid monthly dividends. These dividends were funded in part by Bitcoin treasury yields. Its volatility has collapsed from 13% to 2.1% recently.
This volatility compression is driven by surging institutional demand. The outstanding notional value has been pushed to $6.4 billion. The dual move comes with Bitcoin trading above $76,000. Analysts say the dividend refinement could broaden institutional demand.
