dailyloe.com – Shant Banosian has been named the top mortgage originator for 2026 by Scotsman Guide. This marks his second consecutive year leading the prestigious rankings. He achieved this by closing more than $1 billion in loan volume last year.
This is the sixth time since 2018 that the Waltham, Massachusetts-based loan officer has held the number one position. The majority of his closings, 77%, were for home purchases. Refinances accounted for 19% and second mortgages made up 4% of his business.
For the second year in a row, Mark Cohen of Cohen Financial Group in California was the runner-up. Cohen closed 692 loans for a total volume of $933.7 million. His business consisted of 63% purchases and 37% refinances.
The 2024 top spot had previously been held by Mark Cohen. The Scotsman Guide Top Originators ranking is a key industry benchmark for loan production. It highlights the highest-performing mortgage professionals in the United States.[]
