Ding won $16,400 during this latest game.
His total winnings across 23 games now stand at $644,000. This places him in sixth on the regular-season money list. He trails fellow New Jerseyan Cris Pannullo, who won $748,286 over 21 games in 2022. Ding also moved up to 13th on the all-time money list including tournaments.
On Tuesday’s episode, Ding competed against Iain Carpenter, a healthcare IT specialist from Illinois. His other opponent was Stephanie Rice-Hoffner, a former car wash tech manager from New York City. Ding entered the Final Jeopardy round with a commanding lead of $18,400 to Carpenter’s $5,400. Rice-Hoffner was eliminated with a score of -$800.
The Final Jeopardy clue asked for the book containing chapters titled ‘Stop Fuming and Fretting’ and ‘I Don’t Believe in Defeat’. No contestant provided the correct response, which was ‘The Power of Positive Thinking’. Ding lost $2,000 on his wager during this final round.
