dailyloe.com – A Minnesota man accused of assaulting a reporter at a protest says backlash has made him second-guess living in the United States. Chris Ostroushko made the statement in an interview with One America News Network published Monday. He described the reaction to the April 11 incident as overwhelming for his family.

Ostroushko said his family has faced hundreds of calls and messages daily. He told the network he had never experienced anything like this before. The incident occurred outside the Whipple building in Minnesota during an anti-ICE protest.

TPUSA Frontlines reporter Savanah Hernandez was covering the ‘F— ICE Day’ protest. She says demonstrators surrounded her after learning her affiliation. Hernandez states protesters blew horns in her face and that Chris and his daughter Paige attacked her.

A video clip shows Chris Ostroushko coming up behind Hernandez. He appears to shove her to the ground in the footage. Hernandez told Fox News Digital she sought medical treatment afterward. She was diagnosed with a concussion and multiple sprains.

In a previous interview, Chris Ostroushko said he was defending his wife and daughter. He described Hernandez as the aggressor during the altercation. Ostroushko told podcast host Brian Shapiro last week that his family are not violent people. He stated they tend to shy away from violence.

The Ostroushko family says they have been doxed and smeared since the video went viral. They report losing their jobs as a result of the incident. They also claim their daughter Paige suffered neck injuries from the police.

The family has started a GoFundMe campaign with an $8,000 goal. The fundraiser had raised over $300 at the time of reporting. Hernandez told Fox News Digital that left-wing protesters have been the biggest proponent of violence. She made this statement after being assaulted at the Minneapolis protest.
