Soledad Poma de Otaegui, the mother’s attorney, stated, ‘This gives an unexpected turn in the case.’ She emphasized that while they cannot make accusations based solely on the charge, it opens avenues for further investigation.
Poma de Otaegui also represents two other victims who have accused Roque Lucero of abuse, one incident occurring in 2024. She detailed the difficulties faced in advancing the case, including a restraining order and the accused changing residences.
The attorney noted that the abuse occurred in the victim’s home. She mentioned that Yamila has been informed about this new development, which raises significant questions regarding the investigation into Guadalupe’s disappearance.
According to Poma de Otaegui, Roque Lucero is now considered the primary suspect in the disappearance case. Previously, he was not under investigation for Guadalupe’s case, leading to confusion within the family regarding the handling of the case.
