Her teenage daughter, Tiffani McInnis, searched for answers for over two decades. The case went cold for years until new information surfaced. This prompted Beaumont police to reopen the investigation more than 20 years later.
That new lead pointed detectives to a secret grave. Investigators made a horrific discovery there that revealed Langwell’s fate. The case was solved after 24 years and 11 months.
In 2024, Beaumont police arrested Terry Rose. He was Langwell’s former boyfriend. Investigators found human remains buried beneath a bedroom floor at his home.
The discovery used cadaver dogs and ground-penetrating radar. Authorities say Rose told an informant he killed Langwell in 1999. He reportedly said he buried her on the property.
Terry Rose has since been indicted for murder. The ’48 Hours’ report features interviews with key figures in the case. It also highlights the emotional toll on daughter Tiffani McInnis.
