New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is out of the lineup for a third straight game. The team is currently awaiting medical clarity regarding a bone bruise in one of his right ribs, which is causing pain in his right shoulder.

As reported by ESPN, Yankees manager Aaron Boone stated that the team is waiting for the findings of Dr. Gregory Pearl, a vascular surgery specialist based in Dallas. “Look, it’s a lot of smart people in a specialized area and (the) guy’s several states away,” Boone said. “We just got to be patient.” Judge underwent a CT scan on Thursday morning, following an MRI earlier in the week.

The bone bruise was first revealed when Judge underwent testing during the team’s off day on Monday. Boone noted that the Yankees are committed to ensuring that Judge receives the right diagnosis before any further action is taken.

Injury Concerns Surrounding Aaron Judge

Judge’s injury history adds an extra layer of concern. He was previously diagnosed with a stress fracture in one of his right ribs in March 2020 after diving for a ball in September 2019. However, he did not miss any games because the 2020 MLB season was delayed due to the pandemic.

Currently, Judge is hitting .248 with 17 home runs this season. His absence from the lineup has significant implications for the Yankees, who are in a competitive race within their division. The team relies heavily on Judge’s performance and leadership on the field.

Impact of Injury on Team Performance

The Yankees face challenges as they navigate Judge’s recovery. His absence creates gaps in the lineup that other players must fill, impacting team performance and strategy. The team must adapt quickly to maintain their competitive edge while awaiting updates on Judge’s condition.

As the Yankees continue to seek clarity on Judge’s injury, the timing of his return will be critical. The upcoming games could be pivotal for the team’s playoff aspirations. Boone emphasized that a thorough diagnosis is essential to ensure Judge’s long-term health and performance.

Future Steps for the Yankees

The situation requires careful monitoring and potentially adjusting the roster to compensate for Judge’s absence. The Yankees will need to rely on their depth and other players to step up during this challenging period. Fans and team management alike will be hoping for positive news regarding Judge’s recovery.

Ultimately, the Yankees must balance the urgency of their current season with the necessity of protecting their star player’s health. A clear diagnosis and effective treatment plan will be vital for Judge’s return and the team’s overall success as they move forward.
