dailyloe.com – Xfinity Mobile has launched two new wireless phone plans with lower prices and more high-speed data. The plans are available to new and existing Xfinity Internet customers. They replace the company’s previous wireless plan lineup. Kohposh Kuda, Xfinity senior vice president of consumer product marketing, commented on the launch.

“At the end of the day, connectivity should be ubiquitous,” said Kohposh Kuda. “It shouldn’t matter what type of device you have [or] whether you’re in or out of your home. You should be able to get a reliable, fast, seamless experience.” The new plans aim to provide that connectivity. They are called Mobile Select and Mobile Plus.

The Mobile Select plan costs $30 per line each month. It includes unlimited talk, text and 50GB of high-speed data. Video streaming is limited to HD, or 720p, resolution. Mobile hotspot data is unlimited but speeds reduce after 15GB.

This plan replaces the previous Unlimited plan. That older plan cost $40 per line. It included only 30GB of high-speed data. The new Mobile Select offers more data for a lower price.

The Mobile Plus plan costs $45 per line each month. It includes unlimited talk, text and high-speed data. Video streaming is available at 4K resolution on this plan. Mobile hotspot data is unlimited with speeds reduced after 50GB.

This plan replaces the previous Premium Unlimited plan. That older plan cost $50 per line. The new Mobile Plus plan is priced $5 less. It also includes more features than the old plan.

Both new plans include Global Travel Pass. This allows connections in over 215 international locations. They also include Wi-Fi PowerBoost. This can deliver speeds up to 1Gbps on Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots with compatible phones.

The prices are fixed per line, per month. There are no complex calculations for adding multiple lines. This simplifies billing compared to some other carriers. However, it could be more expensive for some families.

For example, the old Premium Unlimited plan had different rates. The first line was $50 and additional lines were $30. Four lines on the new Mobile Plus plan would cost $180 total. The same four lines on the old plan cost $140.

The Mobile Plus plan also includes Lifetime Device Protection. This covers phones, tablets and smartwatches against damage, loss and theft. The protection extends to bring-your-own devices. The plan also enables anytime device upgrades without trade-ins.

Xfinity is introducing a separate family plan for connected devices. It costs $35 a month and connects up to 10 smartwatches and tablets. Families can trade in Wi-Fi-only devices for cellular models. Single tablet activations normally cost $20 each.
