dailyloe.com – The U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued a public health alert for Walmart’s Great Value dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets. The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the alert on April 2, 2026. It concerns specific 29-ounce bags of the product.
The agency stated the chicken nuggets could contain unsafe levels of lead. The affected products were produced on February 10, 2026. They have a ‘best if used by’ date of February 10, 2027.
The specific lot code is 0416DPO1215 with establishment number P44164. This information is printed on the back of the plastic bags. Each bag contains 36 fully cooked chicken breast nuggets.
The USDA is not issuing a formal recall for the item. Officials said the products are no longer available for purchase in stores. They are concerned consumers may still have the nuggets in home freezers.
The FSIS advises anyone with the product to discard it immediately. Alternatively, consumers can return it to their place of purchase. The problem was identified during routine surveillance sampling by inspectors.
Lead exposure can cause serious health problems, especially in children. Symptoms are not always immediate or flu-like. The USDA alert is a precautionary measure for public safety.[]
