Smith County Emergency Management Coordinator Brandon Moore reported two homes suffered extensive damage. First responders are on scene dealing with arching power lines. They are waiting for ONCOR work crews to arrive for repairs.
Lindale Fire Chief Jeremy LaRue confirmed one woman was displaced from her damaged home. The incident occurred in the 15300 block of County Road 46 and County Road 45. Officials urged residents to report any storm damage to authorities.
Heavy rainfall from the same storm system caused flash flooding in nearby Longview. A Burger King franchise parking lot saw several inches of water. Employees stated the water drained and did not affect business operations.
Significant flooding was also reported in the city of Marshall. Police asked residents to avoid flooded areas like the Franklin Street Bridge. The public was advised to stay clear of dangerous road conditions.
