dailyloe.com – Soho House Tokyo has officially opened in the Aoyama district. This marks the global members’ club’s first location in Japan. The 75,000-square-foot space is in a modern building near Omotesando. It offers panoramic views of Tokyo Tower and Mount Fuji.
The property contains two floors of club space and a wellness studio. It also houses 42 guest bedrooms ranging from Cosy to Extra Large. The design balances East and West aesthetics. Soho House’s maximalist style meets meticulous Japanese craft.
Design details include a reception desk hand-crafted from Kyoto lacquer. Makino Urushi created this piece. Walls are clad in handmade washi paper by KAMISM. Bedrooms feature parquet flooring inspired by tatami patterns.
Bespoke soft furnishings are crafted from upcycled vintage kimono fabrics. On the 14th floor, a pool terrace features a 4,000-square-foot infinity-style pool. The pool is lined with bespoke indigo and white TAJIMI tiles from Gifu.
Culinary offerings blend European comfort food with local flavors. The House Brasserie and Club spaces include an Edomae-style sushi counter. Head chef Kunihiro Shinohara leads this counter. Notable menu items include a Prawn Scotch Egg okonomiyaki style.
Another menu item is a Sticky Toffee Pudding reimagined taiyaki style. It uses Okinawan caramel. To commemorate the opening, Soho House partnered with Onitsuka Tiger. They created a unique staff uniform collection.
The uniform utilizes Onitsuka Tiger’s DENIVITA series. Soho House Tokyo is now open in the vibrant Aoyama district. It represents the brand’s inaugural entry into the Japanese market.[]
