dailyloe.com – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for most of South Central Texas, effective until midnight. The Storm Prediction Center has categorized parts of the Hill Country and Austin Metro Area under a Level 3 risk.
Additionally, the San Antonio Metro area is under a Level 2 risk for severe storms tonight. The main threats include damaging wind gusts, quarter-sized hail, and heavy rainfall that may cause brief street flooding.
The most significant threat includes straight-line wind gusts of 70 mph or greater. While specific locations for these gusts cannot be pinpointed, residents are advised to prepare for potential power outages.
It is recommended to keep cell phones and devices charged to receive alerts. The storms are expected to move out quickly, with most areas clearing by early Monday morning.
Following the cold front, weather conditions will become more comfortable. Monday will see slightly cooler temperatures with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
A gradual warming trend will occur throughout the week, with plenty of sunshine and dry weather, leading to highs returning to the 90s by late week. KSAT meteorologists continue to monitor the changing weather in South Texas.
