On May 7, Selma, 53, posted on Instagram, “Almost 30 years of adoring this Sunshine!!” She added, “Catching up kept me brighter all week long.” Selma expressed her affection for Witherspoon, saying, “Oceans of love to you @reesewitherspoon.”

Reese, 50, responded in the comments, stating, “Elle and Vivian forever,” accompanied by a heart emoji. Their reunion photos showcased the friends laughing and enjoying coffee together, emphasizing their camaraderie.

Ava Phillippe, Reese’s daughter, commented on the reunion, calling them “Total babes, then & now.” This reunion coincides with the upcoming release of the Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle.

Elle focuses on a young Elle Woods, played by newcomer Lexi Minetree, navigating life in high school after moving from Los Angeles to Seattle. Prime Video recently unveiled the first look at the series, which is executive produced by Witherspoon’s company, Hello Sunshine.

The premiere is scheduled for July 1, just days before the 25th anniversary of Legally Blonde, originally released on July 13, 2001. Reese expressed her emotions about this milestone, noting the significance of the anniversary.
