dailyloe.com – Mikayla Matthews, star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, is relocating to Hawaii to address her Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) symptoms. In an Instagram video posted on April 29, she stated, “Travel with me to heal my skin.” She revealed, “It’s finally time to tell you guys where I’m moving away,” confirming her destination as Hawaii.
Mikayla is traveling with two of her children: Beckham, 8, Haven, 6, Tommie, 4, and Lottie, 9 months, from her estranged husband Jace Terry. During her flight, she experienced multiple skin flare-ups but remained optimistic, saying, “I’m just so excited to be here. Positive vibes.”
In her caption, she expressed enthusiasm for starting a new chapter, stating, “Officially starting the new chapter.” She also praised her new surroundings, mentioning, “how STUNNING is this resort!?! @thewestinmaui.” Although she did not specify the duration of her stay, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to focus on her health.
Mikayla shared her emotional struggles in a separate Instagram video, stating, “I think every single day how grateful I am to be in the position that I’m in.” She described the overwhelming nature of managing her health while caring for her children and handling financial responsibilities.
On March 18, she opened up about her CIRS diagnosis, writing, “I’m genuinely just barely surviving.” She explained that chronic illness affects her ability to be the mother she wants to be. Mikayla also detailed the cause of her illness, attributing it to prolonged exposure to toxins, such as mold.
“This condition has stolen literally everything from me,” she noted on her Instagram Stories. Mikayla reflected on her past struggles, revealing, “I had like a year and half where I couldn’t look people in the eyes.” She continues to work on her healing journey.
