dailyloe.com – Kendall Jenner showcased her unique style at the 2026 Met Gala, themed “Costume Art.” This marked her 12th appearance at the prestigious event.

For this occasion, Jenner collaborated with Zac Posen, the creative director of Gap Inc. Posen designed her look inspired by the Winged Victory of Samothrace, a celebrated Greek statue.

Although they had never worked together, Jenner and Posen respected each other’s work. Jenner admired Christina Ricci’s 2011 Met Gala dress, which she referred to as the “spider dress.”

Jenner said, “I’ve had this dress on my mood board for so fucking long! It’s so perfect, and she looks so gorgeous and hot.” Posen had long desired to work with Jenner, influenced by his relationship with her sister, Kim Kardashian.

He expressed his wish to collaborate with Jenner in a letter. “I said that it would be a dream to collaborate with her for this theme,” Posen stated.

Jenner revealed, “I’ve always really admired Zac from afar,” and noted that she often thought about him. Coincidentally, she received an email from him regarding the Met Gala.

She considered this collaboration to be fate, saying, “I believe in the universe guiding you in a certain direction. It came together so perfectly.”

Posen modernized the ancient look, starting with a classic white Gap T-shirt. “I took a white Gap T-shirt off of my back in my studio and started pulling it and tweaking it,” he explained.

He aimed to interpret the sculpture’s influence on modern culture in a glamorous way. Influences included masters of jersey and drapery such as Madame Grès and Azzedine Alaïa.

Jenner was deeply involved in the design process, eager to replicate the rippling, windswept tunic of the statue. Posen used a lightweight cotton-viscose blend to achieve a wet drapery effect.

Jenner remarked, “It’s been really cool to see him work. I can see his wheels turning, which is such a treat for me.” The designer layered tea-dyed liquid jersey with satin-face chiffon and organza to enhance the design.
