dailyloe.com – Johnny Depp and Imelda May have released a reworked version of Shane MacGowan’s song ‘Haunted.’ This track is part of the upcoming tribute album ’20th Century Paddy – The Songs of Shane MacGowan.’

‘Haunted’ was originally written for the Sid and Nancy soundtrack and became well-known as a 1995 duet between MacGowan and Sinéad O’Connor. The new version marks the second single from the tribute album, following Bruce Springsteen’s cover of ‘A Rainy Night in Soho.’

Depp expressed that recording the track felt like more than just a collaboration. He stated it was a way to honor two artists who “told the truth when the rest of us were still working up the courage.” Depp praised MacGowan as “one of the greatest poets of his generation,” noting how his words resonate deeply.

He also highlighted the unique talent of Sinéad O’Connor, saying, “There was simply nobody like her.” Depp emphasized her courage and authenticity, stating, “You only experience talent like that once in a lifetime, if you’re lucky.”
