dailyloe.com – In Oklahoma City, JJ Redick and Mark Daigneault connected over their shared experiences with Scott Brooks. Redick first met Daigneault while he was an ESPN analyst. They discussed the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team emerging as a title contender.

During a recent practice, Daigneault revealed he had shown film of Redick’s defensive plays to his players. Redick recalled that Daigneault had mentioned this specific series of clips. He also reflected on his defensive skills during his playing career.

Redick noted that he has shared only one video of himself with his players, emphasizing the importance of taking charges. He described a moment where he took a charge from LeBron James, resulting in nine stitches and a concussion.

Daigneault and Redick also share a connection through Lakers assistant coach Scott Brooks. Brooks was the head coach of the Thunder from 2008 to 2015. During the end of Brooks’ tenure, Daigneault coached the Thunder’s G League team.

Daigneault acknowledged Brooks’ role in his development as a coach. He expressed gratitude for Brooks’ willingness to let him observe NBA operations. “It was my first exposure to the NBA, and I was a G League coach,” Daigneault said.

He continued, “He was gracious enough to let me be around the team in training camp.” This mentorship provided Daigneault with valuable insights into running an NBA franchise.
