dailyloe.com – Jimmy Fallon apologized to Christian Hubicki on the April 23 episode of ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’ Hubicki was eliminated from ‘Survivor 50’ after a twist devised by Fallon forced him to vote himself out. The apology came one day after Hubicki’s elimination aired.

Hubicki went on a journey during the April 22 episode of ‘Survivor 50.’ He was challenged with completing a jigsaw puzzle but could not finish it in time. After his loss, he had to take a note from Fallon back to camp and read it aloud. The note revealed he had to vote for himself at Tribal Council, becoming the first player in show history to do so. He was then voted out by the other castaways.

Hubicki, who was livid during the vote, said he looked forward to Fallon’s apology. ‘Now that we’re both in the same place, what I have to say is, Christian, I am so sorry,’ Fallon said with a laugh. ‘I am so sorry about this. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. It wasn’t supposed to be you. And I felt so bad because I love you.’

Hubicki, who previously competed on ‘Survivor: David vs. Goliath,’ described the experience of voting himself out. ‘It’s a surreal experience,’ he said, adding he used the vote to do ‘a five-minute set roasting Jimmy Fallon.’ ‘I just decided, finally, all those frustrations in this game, I could take out in the best way possible, on a celebrity 8,000 miles away,’ he continued.

Fallon expressed hope that Hubicki will compete on ‘Survivor’ again. ‘You were one of the best players to ever play ‘Survivor.’ And I love you,’ he said. ‘You’re a young man, which means that you could always come back if they decide to ask you back, and I think you should come back. And I just think that you’re fantastic. And I really want to say I’m sorry.’

‘Apology accepted,’ Hubicki said as they shook hands. Hubicki had previously indicated he wanted to clear the air with Fallon. ‘Maybe I get a chance to meet him,’ he told Entertainment Weekly after his elimination episode aired. ‘Maybe we will hit it off and we will let this misunderstanding get past this. So long as there’s some kind of mediator between us, I think we can hit a new understanding.’
