dailyloe.com – James Cook, running back for the Buffalo Bills, announced his graduation from the University of Georgia on April 29, 2026. This announcement follows the Bills’ completion of the 2026 NFL Draft, where they added 10 new players to their roster. Cook will participate in the graduation ceremony on May 8.
During his time at Georgia, Cook played four seasons and appeared in 50 games, accumulating 1,503 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. He contributed to the Bulldogs’ victory in the 2021 National Championship. Cook initially entered the 2021 NFL Draft but chose to return for one more season at Georgia.
Cook expressed his purpose in returning, stating, “We came back for a purpose, and, I mean, we worked hard as older guys.” Since joining the Bills, Cook has established himself as a top running back in the NFL, amassing 4,259 rushing yards over 66 games. He led the league with 1,621 rushing yards in the previous season.
Cook’s achievements include both a college championship and a degree, a rare combination for players in the NFL. He aims to add a Super Bowl victory to his accolades with the Bills this season. Mel Kiper Jr. noted that the Bills could secure a Super Bowl win if their rookies perform well.
