dailyloe.com – On May 13, 2026, Jaire Alexander shared his experience during the NFL opening weekend last season. He had been released by the Packers a few months earlier and was now with the Ravens, facing the Bills and quarterback Josh Allen. Alexander aimed to prove he was still an All-Pro caliber cornerback after overcoming a PCL injury.

In preparation for the game, Alexander underwent a stem-cell procedure in Atlanta to expedite his recovery. Unfortunately, he struggled to walk for three days post-procedure, raising concerns about his readiness. As the game approached, he pushed himself hard despite ongoing knee pain.

During practice that week, it became evident to him that he was not fully prepared to play. He attempted to motivate himself, affirming, ‘You’re the best corner in the league! You’re good! You’ll do fine.’ However, he ultimately felt unprepared.

On game day, Alexander was limited to 25 plays as a dime package player. Despite his limitations, he acknowledged during warm-ups that he wasn’t at his best. Notably, he recalled a conversation with Rodney Harrison, where he admitted, ‘My knee isn’t feeling the best, but we’re gonna see how it goes.’

As the game unfolded, Alexander exceeded his play count but struggled significantly. He described his performance as the worst of his career and expressed embarrassment over it. He stated, ‘I went out there and played the worst game I’ve ever played in my entire life.’

Reflecting on the game, he described moments that felt surreal, like a nightmare. He recalled a critical play before halftime where he was unable to intercept a pass thrown by Josh Allen. This challenging experience highlighted the struggles he faced while attempting to return to peak performance.
