dailyloe.com – Pablo Centrone resigned as the coach of Club Deportivo Guastatoya just hours before the first leg of the quarterfinals of Clausura 2026 against Municipal.
This decision was announced by the club’s president, creating an unprecedented situation for Guastatoya at a critical time in the season.
The match is scheduled for 19:00 at Estadio David Cordón Hichos.
Centrone’s resignation comes after he successfully led the team to the playoffs, having secured a 4-0 victory against Marquense in the last regular phase match.
The Argentine coach joined Guastatoya in September 2025, tasked with pulling the team out of the danger zone and achieving playoff qualification, which he accomplished.
Despite having the support of the club’s management, Centrone expressed dissatisfaction with certain issues related to some players, leading to his decision to step down.
The club’s board acknowledged his resignation and will need to appoint a new coach before the match against Municipal.
Guastatoya will also need to prepare for the return leg scheduled for Sunday at El Trébol.
