dailyloe.com – The Mercy Health Glass City Marathon will take place in Toledo, Ohio, during the final weekend in April. Road closures for the event are scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 25, and will continue through Sunday, April 26. The closures will follow a rolling pattern, reopening streets as the last participant passes.
On Saturday, April 25, several roads will be closed starting at 5:00 a.m. Eastbound Bancroft Road will be closed until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, between Secor and Westwood. Additional closures include Bancroft Road from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and Secor Road from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Douglas Road will be closed at East Rocket Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Westwood Avenue will also be closed from Oakwood to Bancroft from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Various roads on the University of Toledo campus will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., including West Towerview, West Rocket Drive, East Rocket Drive, North Towerview, and Stadium Drive, which will remain closed until noon.
On Sunday, April 26, road closures will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sylvania Avenue will see eastbound traffic closed from King to Corey. King will not allow eastbound turns to Sylvania Avenue, and no eastbound traffic will be permitted from King Road to Holland Sylvania.
Farmbrook will experience road closures throughout the area, with Sylvania Township Police on patrol to assist residents if needed. McCord intersections at Sylvania Avenue and the UP Trail will be closed to inbound traffic, as will the Holland-Sylvania intersections at the same locations.
Corey will be closed to southbound traffic from Sylvania Avenue to Central Avenue during this time. In Ottawa Hills, closures will occur from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
On Saturday, Bancroft will be closed from Orchard to University Hills between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. On Sunday, Bancroft will be closed from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. between Secor and University Hills. Other closures include Indian from Talmadge to Secor and various roads within Ottawa Hills from Talmadge to Exmoor.
Talmadge will be closed between Indian and Bancroft from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with additional closures on Exmoor and Central from 7:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. as well.
