dailyloe.com – Fubo, recently acquired by Disney, will enable purchases of its sports-focused bundle through ESPN platforms in 2027, according to a company announcement.
This initiative is part of a press release ahead of Fubo’s quarterly earnings call. It allows users to buy Fubo Sports directly through ESPN, with ESPN.com linking to Fubo’s offerings.
Fubo Sports, priced at $56 monthly, is a more affordable option than other sports bundles, yet lacks essential networks like TNT Sports, Versant, NBC, and NBCSN.
However, a subscription to Fubo Sports provides access to ESPN Unlimited, which is necessary for exclusive content, including WWE events and select Grand Slam tennis matches.
The upcoming sales through ESPN are described as a “reseller and marketing arrangement.” Fubo Sports will not be fully integrated into the ESPN app.
Disney holds a 70% stake in Fubo, but the original management team continues to operate the company per the merger agreement. Shortly after the merger, Fubo’s operations were combined with Hulu + Live TV, though both remain available separately.
Fubo aims to cater to sports fans moving away from traditional cable options. Nevertheless, it faces stiff competition from numerous distributors, both legacy and new, that offer their own sports packages.
With a bundle that lacks several key networks, Fubo will depend on Disney’s influence to secure essential content.
