dailyloe.com – Fantasy baseball analyst Fred Zinkie has identified several pitchers as valuable waiver wire additions in Yahoo leagues as of April 10, 2026.
Zinkie writes that the waiver wire remains fruitful heading toward the middle of April.
He states this is the best time to get aggressive with adding players.
Options at every position are exceeding expectations and could break out.
Zinkie focuses on pitchers to add in his latest column.
He highlights Guardians starting pitcher Parker Messick, who is rostered in 46% of leagues.
Zinkie says he will write about Messick every week until his roster rate exceeds 50%.
He believes the southpaw should have a roster rate of at least 70%.
Messick owns a 0.82 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP for the season.
Another recommended pitcher is Brewers pitcher Kyle Harrison, rostered in 38% of leagues.
Harrison was a trendy sleeper pick during spring training.
He is having a terrific start with a 2.61 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP.
Harrison also has a 14:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio over two starts.
Zinkie notes the Brewers typically do a terrific job with their pitchers.
This should make fantasy managers excited to add Harrison while he is available.
The lefty’s upcoming starts include favorable matchups against the Nationals, Marlins, and Pirates.
Yankees starter Ryan Weathers is also mentioned, with a 27% roster rate.
Weathers showed exciting signs of progress during spring training.
He was mediocre in his initial two starts before a dominant outing.
He threw eight innings of one-run ball against the Athletics last time out.
Zinkie says this is a great time to take a chance on Weathers.
He is a two-start pitcher next week with reasonable matchups.
Weathers will face the Angels and the Royals in those starts.
For relievers, Zinkie points to Cardinals closer Riley O’Brien, rostered in 45% of leagues.
The Cardinals turned to O’Brien as their closer after a brief experiment.
O’Brien has picked up all of the team’s past three saves.
He has been dominant this season with a 7:0 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
O’Brien has thrown 7.1 scoreless innings and is moving into the second tier of closers.
Rays closer Bryan Baker is another option, with an 8% roster rate.
Zinkie states Baker is the Rays closer but lacks saves to show for it.
The Rays have generated just three saves so far this season.
Baker earned the last one on Monday and picked up a win the previous day.
He pitched the ninth inning of a tied game, an assignment often given to the closer.
Baker is in the bottom tier of closers but is already on the radar for fantasy managers.[]
