dailyloe.com – The WNBA and NBA Board of Governors have unanimously approved the sale of the Connecticut Sun franchise to Tilman J. Fertitta, owner of the Houston Rockets. This decision was announced on Wednesday. The approval follows an agreement reached in March and earlier discussions reported by ESPN in December.
The Connecticut Sun will finish the 2026 season in Connecticut. They are scheduled to play two games at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Connecticut, and another at TD Garden in Boston.
Before the move to Houston ahead of the 2027 season, Sun president Jen Rizzotti emphasized the need for the staff and players to focus on the current season. Rizzotti stated, “I think our fans deserve that. And I think as a front office staff, our job is to continue to put on a great show and put a great product on the floor.”
