dailyloe.com – Basha High School’s varsity Rocket League team defeated Willow Canyon High School 3-0 on Thursday afternoon in Chandler. The match took place at Basha High School on March 26. This dominant sweep improved Basha’s season record to nine wins and one loss.
Basha outscored Willow Canyon 14-2 across the three-game series. Player Tomas Hanko led the team with eight of the team’s fourteen total goals. Jorge Coracides contributed three goals and a team-high eight assists during the match.
Freshman player Walker Horn recorded three goals and three assists. He also registered sixteen shots according to PlayVs statistics. Every player on the Basha roster contributed to the decisive victory.
The team acknowledged starting slowly in the first game, which they won 3-0. They experienced another slow start in the second game before scoring three goals in the final ninety seconds. The final score of the second game was 5-1 for Basha.
Basha found its rhythm and closed the series with a 6-1 victory in the third game. Player Tomas Hanko stated everything improved after the initial game. The team’s only loss this season came against reigning state champions Valley Christian High School.
With two regular season games remaining, Basha is preparing for the playoffs. Player Jorge Coracides commented the performance was not their best. He said the team was messing around and not playing to its full potential.[]
