dailyloe.com – The Minnesota Wild host the Vancouver Canucks tonight at 8 p.m. ET. This marks defenseman Quinn Hughes’s first game against Vancouver since his trade. He was acquired by Minnesota in a December 12 deal.
The Canucks are starting goaltender Nikita Tolopilo. Kevin Lankinen made 24 saves in an 8-6 win Wednesday. Ty Mueller was called up from the AHL for this game.
Vancouver’s injury list includes Thatcher Demko and Filip Chytil. Evander Kane is also out with an undisclosed issue. The team did not hold a morning skate today.
For the Wild, Jared Spurgeon returns from a one-game absence. Forward Danila Yurov re-enters the lineup after being scratched. Nick Foligno is out for a scheduled rest night.
Wild coach John Hynes confirmed Foligno is healthy. He called it “just a night off” for the veteran. Foligno had played 11 straight games since a March 6 trade.
Filip Gustavsson is projected to start in goal for Minnesota. Jesper Wallstedt is listed as the backup goaltender. The Wild report no players on their injured list.
The Canucks hold a record of 22 wins, 44 losses, and 8 overtime losses. The Wild’s record is stronger at 41 wins, 21 losses, and 12 overtime losses. The game will be televised on multiple regional sports networks.[]
