The Bruins are undergoing a substantial roster overhaul, signing four other transfers to replace lost depth and three-point production. Coach Cori Close aims for five total portal additions to create a competitive lineup for the upcoming Big Ten play.
Addy Brown, a 6-foot-2 forward, announced her commitment to UCLA on Thursday. She averaged 11.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists last season, shooting 43.1% from the field and 33.8% from three-point range.
Despite playing only 21 games due to injury, Brown is considered one of the top players available. UCLA’s revamped roster is beginning to take shape with her addition.
Previously, the Bruins signed Arkansas transfer Bonnie Deas, who averaged nearly a double-double in her first SEC season. They also welcomed back junior guard Elina Aarnisalo and Texas Christian guard Donovyn Hunter.
Deas is expected to start at point guard and is recognized as one of the best rebounding guards nationally. Returning forward Timea Gardiner, a key player during UCLA’s 2024-25 Final Four run, is also part of the roster.
Gardiner missed the past season due to injury but has one season of eligibility remaining. With these additions, UCLA aims to defend its national championship effectively.
