Trump was asked specifically about companies like Amazon.com Inc. and Apple Inc. He responded that it would be brilliant if they did not seek refunds. The President stated, ‘If they don’t do that, I’ll remember them.’
Thousands of companies have filed lawsuits to preserve their refund rights. These include Costco Wholesale Corp. and FedEx Corp. They filed in the Court of International Trade. This is a precaution should the Trump administration challenge the refunds.
United Parcel Service Inc. issued a statement on its refund policy. UPS said it would pass refunds to customers who paid tariffs via its service. This would only occur after the money is received from the government.
‘There is no need for those customers to contact UPS,’ the company stated. It has established a process to issue refunds to payors. This process will begin after funds are received from CBP.
Following the Supreme Court ruling, Trump imposed a temporary 10% tariff. This tariff is set to expire in July 2026. The administration is working to restore that revenue using other tariff authorities.
