dailyloe.com – Taylor Momsen was hospitalized after a poisonous spider bite while traveling with AC/DC for the Power Up tour. The Gossip Girl alum shared the news on Instagram on April 14. She posted a photo showing the bite with a rash extending up her calf. The incident occurred nearly two years after she was bitten by a bat during a concert.
“Hospital today, show tomorrow,” Taylor wrote in her Instagram post. She added, “Poisonous spiders are NO BUENO but the show must go on, see you tomorrow Mexico City!” A fan pointed out her prior bat bite in the comments. Taylor responded, “I know. WTF.”
The initial spider bite happened nearly a week before the post. Taylor noted a “massive spider” decided to “take a chunk out of” her leg. She said the spider’s venom “did a number” on her system. The 32-year-old maintained good spirits despite the incident.
“It wouldn’t be an AC/DC tour if I didn’t get bit,” she joked in an April 9 post. She added, “Add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl?” The singer referenced a similar incident from nearly two years prior. That incident involved a bat while she performed on stage in Spain.
“There’s a f–king flying bat on my leg right now,” Taylor said into the microphone during the May 2024 concert. Videos from the show captured the moment. She asked, “Can someone help me please?” A stage hand helped remove the bat from her leg.
Once the bat was removed, she was able to continue with the show. “Gracias!” Taylor told the stage hand who helped her. She added, “It’s alright. And the bat’s fine. He’s gonna be my new friend.” In a follow-up since-deleted Instagram post, she provided more details.
“He was cute, but yes he bit me,” Taylor wrote in the deleted post. She revealed the bite required “rabies shots for the next two weeks.” Despite this medical setback, she assured fans it felt like a “ROCK AND ROLL MOMENT.” The ordeal even earned her a new nickname.[]
