dailyloe.com – The Stern Grove Festival in San Francisco has announced its 2025 summer lineup, featuring diverse acts from Major Lazer to soul legend Patti LaBelle. The free concert series runs from June through August at Sigmund Stern Recreation Grove. This festival claims to be America’s longest-running free music event, operating since 1938.
This year’s programming showcases significant musical diversity across genres. The season opens on June 14 with Peter Cat Recording Co., an Indian alt-rock band. The lineup includes Colombian group Bomba Estéreo and indie rock artist Japanese Breakfast.
Major Lazer will perform, led by producer Diplo. The San Francisco Symphony will play with banjoist Béla Fleck. Texas country musician Charley Crockett is also scheduled.
British pop singer Suki Waterhouse performs in July. The Violent Femmes play on August 2 with Oakland’s Tune-Yards. Patti LaBelle takes the stage on August 9.

The season ends with the ‘Big Picnic Weekend’ in August. Hip-hop pioneers Public Enemy headline Saturday. Soul icon Al Green performs Sunday with opener Goapele.
Admission remains free but requires tickets obtained via lottery. The lottery opens six weeks before each concert. VIP tables for ten are available through donations.
The festival transforms a public park into a major venue. It serves the Parkside and West Portal neighborhoods annually. The event is a cherished San Francisco summer tradition.[]
