Sinner achieved this milestone on Sunday, beating the third-ranked Zverev with a score of 6-1, 6-2. This win extends his current winning streak to 23 matches.
Before Madrid, Sinner secured Masters 1000 titles in Monte Carlo, Miami, and Indian Wells this year, along with a title in Paris last year. Sinner stated, “I think there is a lot of work behind it. A lot of dedication and sacrifice I put in every day. Obviously, it means a lot to me, seeing these results.”
Zverev, a previous champion in Madrid in 2018 and 2021, expressed his disappointment after the match. He noted, “He’s very good, of course. But I think today I would have lost to anybody, to be very fair. I think today I played an awful tennis match.”
