dailyloe.com – An unsettled weather pattern arrives in Wisconsin this week with rounds of rain and storms. Showers and storms will end Monday night into Tuesday morning from northwest to southeast. Heavy rain and small hail are the largest severe weather threats. The rainfall could be high enough to cause flooding in some communities.
Places most susceptible to flooding Monday night into Tuesday are along rivers. These rivers are already running high from wet conditions. The wet conditions have persisted through the first quarter plus of 2026. An additional First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Tuesday evening.
This alert is for communities around and south of Highway 10. It is due to potential severe storms. Once again, all severe threats are in play. Large hail is the primary threat for Tuesday evening.
The best chance for severe weather in Wisconsin will come closer to Madison and Milwaukee. Timing of the storms will be about 4-10 PM Tuesday afternoon and evening. More clouds than sun are expected on Tuesday. Another round of showers and storms is expected later in the day and at night.
Some storms could be strong on Tuesday. Highs are expected to top out in the low to mid-70s. Wednesday features a similar chance for strong storms later in the day. Strong winds and hail are possible within storms once again.
The best chance for strong to severe storms on Wednesday is in the southern third of the state. Highs on Wednesday will top out in the mid to upper-60s. Mostly cloudy skies are expected Wednesday with scattered afternoon showers.
Showers and storms are possible in the southern half of the area on Wednesday. Showers and storms will persist Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Once the wet weather ends on Thursday, clouds will break for a bit of sun later in the day.
Highs on Thursday are expected to be in the low 60s. Increasing clouds are forecast for Friday. Scattered afternoon and nighttime showers or storms are possible on Friday.
Highs on Friday will be in the upper 60s to around 70. The weather turns cooler on Saturday. Considerable cloudiness and rain showers are expected in the morning.
As temperatures drop from the 40s into the 30s Saturday afternoon, rain or snow showers are possible. Sunday is forecast to be chilly with a mostly cloudy sky. The high temperature on Sunday will be in the upper 30s. Temperatures will be running above average through late week.[]
