dailyloe.com – Housemarque has detailed PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements for its upcoming game Saros, launching on April 30. Creative Director Gregory Louden stated the goal was to push the hardware and showcase PlayStation 5. The team is thrilled to share details about PS5 Pro enhancements and PS5 features. Players can wishlist or pre-order Saros now.

The rendering team upgraded PSSR support to a new version released in March. This update provides an even sharper image in the game’s world of Carcosa. Louden said you can barely tell it apart from native 4K. Since 1995, Housemarque’s goal has been to push hardware, a drive continued with this PSSR update.

Technical Director Seppo Halonen shared specifics on increased base render resolution for PS5 Pro. The base render resolution is the resolution before upscaling. On PS5 Pro, players will have a clearer higher resolution image at 60 fps. The game uses dynamic resolution to ensure stable frame rates during hectic combat.

Halonen stated PS5 Pro always delivers a sharper image in scene-to-scene comparisons. Saros on PS5 already looks incredible and runs at a rock solid 60fps. For PS5 Pro, the team pushes graphics even further. There are many small adjustments in reflections and overall quality.

The increase is not only more pixels but also scaled-up content. The only place with a 30fps mode is in key story cinematics. This mode prioritizes quality over quantity for high-quality characters and lighting. The peak resolution for these cinematics is again higher on PS5 Pro.

The game builds on 3D audio success from Returnal for an evolved immersive experience. It utilizes PlayStation 5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech. Players can hear the lost Carcosa, hostiles, and music all around them. This requires 3D Audio enabled headphones or a 3D audio sound setup.

The sound and music team from PlayStation Creative Arts created a phenomenal experience. Gregory Louden said he cannot wait for players to experience it. The game also features advanced weaponry with adaptive triggers. This utilizes the unique capabilities of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller.
