dailyloe.com – Rickie Fowler missed qualifying for The Masters this year, a significant blow for the American golfer. He finished second by one shot at Augusta in 2018 and had top-five finishes in all four majors in 2014. Fowler has now turned his focus to the 2026 RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour.
In preparation, Fowler spent time on the practice range hitting 211 balls. He is trying to figure out his game the right way after the Masters disappointment. His session included shots from various distances to find form.
From his 211 balls, 32% were from 0-149 yards and 42% from 150-249 yards. Another 26% of his shots were from 250 yards and beyond. His longest drive during Monday’s session measured 290 yards.
Fowler, now 37 and ranked 63rd in the world, once climbed as high as fourth. His last PGA Tour win was at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic. That victory is one of his six career PGA Tour wins.
This season, Fowler has made the cut in six tournaments. He missed the cut at his last two events, the Texas Children’s Houston Open and Valero Texas Open. Before those events, he was enjoying himself on the course.
Fowler may be fresher than other players at the RBC Heritage. Competitors like Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, and Tommy Fleetwood could be fatigued. They just completed a long week at The Masters in Georgia.
The American undoubtedly wanted to join his peers at Augusta. Instead, he is channeling his motivation into a return to PGA Tour glory. His determined practice session demonstrates his focus on recovery.[]
