dailyloe.com – Nigerian Christian leaders have called for sacrificial love and national unity during Easter celebrations. The appeal was made at the Destiny 2026 conference in Lagos this week. Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Lagos, led the message.
Adegbite urged Christians to demonstrate compassion toward fellow citizens and leaders. He emphasized that the essence of Easter should inspire national renewal. He also dismissed widespread doomsday predictions about Nigeria’s future.
“Peace will reign. Every storm shall be subdued,” Adegbite declared confidently. He expressed firm belief in the nation’s unity and stability. The four-day conference coincided with a major church anniversary.
The event was themed “A Time of Refreshing in His Presence.” It marked the 38th anniversary of Vineyard Christian Ministries Inc. Archbishop John Osa-Oni, its Presiding Bishop, also addressed attendees.
Osa-Oni urged believers to rise above spiritual discouragement. He called for a deliberate and deeper relationship with God. “You must be intentional in your desire for the knowledge of God,” he stated.
He described the relationship as a commitment, not a casual one. Remaining in God’s presence guarantees rest and joy, he noted. It also provides preservation and access to divine nature.
“When you secure the presence of God, you secure life,” Osa-Oni added. Another leader, Apostle Josephine Femi-Asiwaju, echoed this call. She is the Coordinator of the Lagos PFN Women Wing.
Femi-Asiwaju encouraged Christians to continually abide in God’s presence. She stressed this provides clarity of identity and comfort. This holds true even in moments of weakness or weariness.[]
