Hardaway’s book is titled ‘Killer Crossover: My Life From The Chicago Streets To Basketball Royalty’. It details his journey from Chicago to collegiate and professional stardom. The book is now available for purchase nationwide.
The event drew fans wearing his iconic number 10 jerseys. Many represented his former NBA teams, the Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat. Hardaway expressed deep affection for the El Paso community.
He credited his time at UTEP from 1985 to 1989 for his personal growth. Hardaway played alongside notable Miners like Jeep Jackson and Antonio Davis. He was also mentored by former NBA guard Nate ‘Tiny’ Archibald.
Fans recalled Hardaway’s loyalty, including his return for Coach Don Haskins’s funeral. Local supporter Carlos Santos praised the player’s enduring respect for UTEP. The event highlighted Hardaway’s lasting legacy in the city.[]
