dailyloe.com – Meta is preparing to announce two new AI glasses models designed for prescription lens wearers, according to a Bloomberg report. The models are expected to be unveiled next week but will not constitute a new generation of the smart glasses. This move directly targets the vast market of people requiring vision correction.

The upcoming models will be sold through traditional prescription eyewear channels. They will come in both rectangular and rounded frame styles. This marks the first time Meta and Ray-Ban have released AI glasses specifically designed for this demographic.

You can already add prescription lenses to existing Meta Ray-Ban AI glasses. The new models are likely the codenamed products Scriber and Blazer. These were first spotted in filings with the Federal Communications Commission.

The FCC filings described the devices as production units. This suggests Meta is close to an actual product launch. The filings indicate these glasses likely will not feature a display.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has previously hinted at this product direction. He noted billions of people wear glasses or contacts for vision correction. Zuckerberg predicted most glasses people wear will be AI glasses within several years.[]
