dailyloe.com – Lifestyle icon Martha Stewart revealed New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson broke her big toe during a playoff game last May. The incident occurred courtside at Madison Square Garden as Brunson dove for a loose ball. The 84-year-old Stewart was wearing open-toe sandals when the 190-pound athlete crashed into her.

Stewart recently confronted Brunson on his ‘Roommates Show’ podcast co-hosted by teammate Josh Hart. The two-time NBA All-Star was apologetic but admitted he did not recall the specific moment. The collision happened during the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers.

Stewart recounted that Brunson landed on her and even sat on her lap briefly. She told him it was okay at the time despite being in significant pain. The game went into overtime, prolonging her discomfort before she could seek medical help.

After the game, Stewart went directly to the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. Doctors confirmed she had suffered a fracture in her big toe. She humorously referred to the injury as the ‘Stewart-Brunson fracture’ during the podcast conversation.

Stewart noted the injury took a full year to heal completely. She mentioned she would leave Brunson a picture of the X-ray. The media personality had previously shared the story on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’.

On Fallon’s show, she revealed she later told Brunson’s parents about the incident. She encountered his father, Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson, and his mother in the Hamptons. Stewart said Brunson’s parents found the story amusing when she told them.[]
