dailyloe.com – Marta Kostyuk will compete against Linda Noskova in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open on Wednesday in Spain. Kostyuk advanced by defeating Caty McNally with a score of 6-2, 6-3. Noskova reached this stage after overcoming Coco Gauff, winning 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (7-5).

Kostyuk enters the match with confidence, having recently secured her first tournament victory of 2026. She won 61% of her first serves against McNally and converted six break points. This will be her second consecutive appearance in the quarter-finals of this tournament, having lost to Aryna Sabalenka at the same stage last year.

In her recent clay events, Kostyuk has reached the quarter-finals or better in two of her last four tournaments, including a victory at the Rouen Open earlier this month. For the year, she has won 80% of her service games, maintaining a strong first serve percentage of over 70% across all surfaces.

Meanwhile, Noskova, 21, demonstrated her resilience by defeating Gauff despite committing seven double faults. She won 72% of her first serves and successfully captured the only tiebreak in the match. As the 13th seed, she has progressed beyond the last 16 in three of her last four tournaments.

So far in 2026, Noskova has also won over 80% of her service games and achieved more than 70% on her first serves. She has won over 30% of her return games this year and has claimed at least 40% of her return points.

The tournament results for Kostyuk include a win against Yulia Putintseva in the round of 64, followed by victories over Jessica Pegula and Caty McNally. Noskova’s path to the quarter-finals included a win over Emiliana Arango in the round of 64 and a walkover against Liudmila Samsonova in the round of 32.
