dailyloe.com – Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has been ruled out for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks due to injuries.

He is dealing with ankle and hip injuries, having initially been listed as probable. The Sixers confirmed his status as out on the NBA’s official injury report Wednesday afternoon.

Embiid was unable to participate in the shootaround on Wednesday morning after experiencing increased soreness in his ankle and hip, according to sources.

Despite efforts to play, including receiving around-the-clock treatment, he was ultimately sidelined. The 76ers are looking to recover from a significant loss in the series opener against the Knicks.

Embiid had previously missed the first three games of the first-round series against the Boston Celtics due to an appendectomy. He returned in dominant form, averaging 28.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game.
