India is set to tour New Zealand for a multi-format series from October to December 2026, as part of New Zealand Cricket’s expansive home summer schedule. This tour will feature five T20 Internationals, five One Day Internationals (ODIs), and two Test matches, making it the largest in-bound tour in New Zealand’s cricket history with a total of 12 matches.
The Test matches will take place at the Cello Basin Reserve in Wellington and the Hagley Oval in Christchurch, following the white-ball leg that starts on October 22. This tour marks India’s first visit to New Zealand since the 2019/20 series, during which they played Test matches.

The series is particularly noteworthy for New Zealand fans, as they will have the opportunity to see prominent Indian players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. This is significant because the upcoming ODI series will serve as essential preparation for the ODI World Cup next year.
The teams last faced each other in the T20 World Cup final earlier this year, and prior to that, New Zealand had toured India for eight white-ball games at the beginning of the year, winning the ODI series 2-1 but losing the T20I series 4-1.

New Zealand’s cricket hosting duties will continue with the women’s team scheduled to play three T20Is and three ODIs against Bangladesh. This comes after the inaugural ICC Women’s T20I Champions Trophy was rescheduled to February, leading to the cancellation of the women’s tour of Australia in February-March.
After the series against India, the men’s team will tour Australia for four Test matches before returning home to face Sri Lanka. This series will begin with three ODIs and three T20Is in January 2027, followed by two Test matches to conclude New Zealand’s home cricketing summer.
