dailyloe.com – Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres has outlined the mental approach needed for the club’s dual title chase. He spoke exclusively to football.london as Arsenal compete for the Premier League and Champions League in the 2025/26 season. Gyokeres stressed the importance of focus and enjoyment during the final run-in.
The 27-year-old has spearheaded Arsenal’s campaign for the majority of the season. He brings experience from winning back-to-back titles in Portugal with Sporting CP. Gyokeres now urges his teammates to handle the weight of expectation.
“You have to be so focused every game and take every game as seriously as you can,” Gyokeres said. He emphasized that all points count in the end of a long season. The striker advised against getting too frustrated if results do not go their way.
“Even now, when we’re in April, there’s a lot of games still to play,” he added. Gyokeres said the team must focus on doing their job and enjoying it. He believes the most important thing is to play football and enjoy it on the pitch.
Arsenal made a major effort to add depth to the squad last summer. Manager Mikel Arteta wanted at least two strong candidates for each position. Gyokeres joined Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as centre-forward options.
The club also focused on signing players with winning experience. Martin Zubimendi, a Copa del Rey winner with Real Sociedad, was brought in. Eberechi Eze, an FA Cup winner with Crystal Palace, and Piero Hincapie, a Bundesliga title-holder, also joined.
Other experienced winners signed include keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Noni Madueke. Madueke is a UEFA Conference League winner with Chelsea. These signings are intended to help squad members who have come up short recently.
Gyokeres agrees that different mindsets and perspectives are important. He noted every player has different experiences and feelings about situations. However, he stated everyone must share the same intention to win trophies.[]
