dailyloe.com – Rickie Fowler commented on his playing partner’s pace after two rounds at the RBC Heritage. Fowler and Kurt Kitayama were paired together for the first 36 holes at Harbour Town Golf Links. Both players finished the first two rounds on eight-under-par. They will be paired together again for the third round on Saturday.

Matt Fitzpatrick is the runaway leader at the halfway stage. He sits at 14-under-par after posting rounds of 65 and 63. The RBC Heritage is a great event according to the source. Fowler’s game should suit the Harbour Town course perfectly.

Fowler’s game seems to be in great shape right now. A lot of hard work went into getting his swing where he wants it. He hit an incredible 561 balls ahead of the RBC Heritage. Now he is reaping the rewards for grinding on the range.

Fowler posted a second round 69 on Hilton Head Island on Friday. He is very well placed heading into the weekend. He responded when asked how he enjoyed playing at Harbour Town. “Yeah, it’s been nice the last two days,” Rickie Fowler said.

“Really enjoyed playing with Kurt,” Fowler continued. “I feel like we’re both fairly quick players, so cruising around and nice to be out in twosomes this week.” He added that being out early meant they cruised through. “I’m pretty sure we were definitely under four hours,” Fowler stated.

“Solid day for both of us,” Fowler said of their second round. “Kurt got more out of it than I did, but yeah, it would have been nice to have a few more putts go in.” He noted it is always tricky around this place. Fowler was happy to at least continue to move forward.

Kurt Kitayama was also asked about playing alongside Fowler. Reporters asked about the sheer volume of people following his group. “Yeah, it’s great,” the 33-year-old Kitayama exclaimed. “A lot of people following, which is always fun.”

“He’s a great playing partner,” Kitayama said of Fowler. “He plays fast. He’s just easy to get along with.” Both players will be paired together again on Saturday. They are clearly delighted to be playing alongside each other once more.

It would be no surprise to see both fire rounds in the mid-60s on day three. They look to position themselves nicely ahead of the final round. The tournament is being held at Harbour Town Golf Links. The event is the RBC Heritage.[]
