dailyloe.com – On April 24, 2026, Erik Jones, a driver for LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, addressed the media before the NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Jones drives the No. 43 Doritos/Dollar Tree Toyota Camry XSE. He expressed excitement about having Doritos featured on the car, stating, “Last year, we did a big deal with Dollar Tree and a partner, and this year, we have Doritos on the car for the race here at Talladega.” He acknowledged Dollar Tree’s significant partnership over the past three years.

Jones also discussed the Oscar plushie, which benefits the Erik Jones Foundation, saying, “All of the proceeds from it go to that to benefit the foundation.” He noted that Oscar, a plushie, is a big fan but doesn’t travel as much to races anymore.

Regarding the new point system at Talladega, Jones mentioned that it might increase aggression during the race. He said, “We approach all these races pretty aggressive in the last handful years because this has been, in the last handful of years, our only great shot to try to win our way in the playoffs.” He emphasized the importance of stage points for the race.

Jones indicated that the focus would be on earning top three stage points in both stages, even if they encounter issues later in the race. He noted that the stage lengths could impact strategies, saying, “It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out, but I think as far as the aggression side, I think will be just as high as ever for stage points.”
